FAQ - Do you have to allow an employee to access to union representation when undertaking a disciplinary process?

Union representatives can act for their members in both disciplinary matters and in health and safety matters.

If an employee does wish to have a union representative present with them during a performance meeting, the union representative can attend the meeting, but only in the capacity of a support person.

The support person, irrespective of their position, is not allowed to be an advocate for the employee.
